Another Season.....

But a little different -

Sunday was "opening day" for Summit Point Baseball and while that doesn't typically mean anything new for Chase, it did for Cierra. You see this year, she wouldn't be standing beside me as we watch Chase and Ronnie run across the field when their names are called. She wouldn't be bundled up since it's always colder at the highest point in our County. And she wouldn't be sitting on the sidelines eating a cheeseburger and fries while we watch Chase play his game.

No. This year Cierra would be excited about Opening Day. She would wear shorts and a t-shirt....brrrr!

She would read these words to the crowd:

The Sportsmanship Code of Babe Ruth League, Inc.
Develop a strong, clean, healthy body, mind and soul.
Develop a strong urge for sportsmanlike conduct.
Develop understanding of and respect for the RULES.
Develop courage in defeat, tolerance and modesty in victory.
Develop control over emotions and speech.
Develop spirit of cooperation and team play.
Develop into real, true CITIZENS.

And she would be inside the fence.....

So maybe it was just a normal day for this guy -

He played his 'normal' position

And they even pulled off a victory their first game of the season!

May it be a GREAT season for all Baseball/Softball players!
