Welcome to......

The Triple C Corral or C and C's Corral or who knows what the name will be but regardless it IS finished!

Yep, it took a few years but the barn is now complete and Cocoa and Puff are lovin' it =) Of course, it's just in time for winter and.....Reba to come home. She's been gone for a few months and is just about ready to come back home a little bit bigger than when she left. And, if all goes as planned come February/March a lamb or two shall be born. Pretty exciting stuff, huh?!

Chase and Cierra paid for all the materials so Ronnie used up some barn wood and scraps that we had laying around and it turned out just perfect, huh?!

OPIE comes to town!

Yesterday was 'weigh-in' for the 4H Livestock projects which meant it was time to pick up the last member of our farm. Isn't he just the cutest?

Wonder where Opie got his name? Well - Ron Howard was born on the same day as the lamb and they both have some "sizeable" ears, ha! Better to hear, right? As expected, he adapted well to Reba, Cocoa and Puff. Now they will all just hang out until late August when a couple of them will head off to the county fair (wink, wink)!

Chase had baseball games so Cierra was pretty much accountable for all the animals. She loves to help out and got some exposure to 'tagging' the lambs.

These projects and 4H in general have taught us all so much. LOVE it!

And speaking of Chase.....he had a double header in Purcellville, VA and with our busy morning, he ended up going with a friend of our's. They won both games and from what I hear, Chase had a great game. He caught all innings and had some good hits. Ironically enough, yesterday was Greg's memorial service. It was a beautiful day and we all know how much Greg loved baseball (and watching Chase play) so I'm wondering if just maybe he had something to do with that 'perfect' day! I still can't believe he's gone and really miss him.

Greg loved Martinis so Ronnie and Jeff had one for him last night - and I'm sure he was smiling!

Here's to you, Greg!

Down on the Farm!

Cierra and Chase went with their 4H group last night on a visit to a local farm. As always it was fun and very interesting.

They got to see a 2 year old, 650 lb pig (who liked getting his picture taken =)

Some pretty unique "Freiberger" horses. Evidently there are very few of these in the United States -

A couple 'bottle' raised Southdown lambs -

A "momma and her baby" just chillin' out while we toured the barn -

A cow that was curious about us....

Even a baby calf that was just born two days ago...

But the best sight of all was this!

This horse kept yawning so I was able to snap him in action. I'm thinking he might need some serious dentistry soon, lol!

REBA!

Ronnie and I have never been fans of Reba McEntire. There's just something about her songs. They always seem sad....but today we have become fans of REBA! Just not that Reba. Check our this Reba that joined our family -

Reba is actually 4H Project #2. She will hopefully be the Momma Ewe to Cierra's next market lamb. Time will tell =)

We did get to visit this little guy, too -

She even got to learn how to 'dock' his tail - check out how long it is...

but not for long -

By the time we pick him up, his tail will be all gone =)

So now Chase's goats have a new barn buddy and all is well!

Sign of Spring -

Not flower buds, not warmer temperatures, not longer days, not even birds chirping! What is it you ask? This -
and this guy having a new 'friend' -

and of course, getting to see Karlie =)

This little doe was born on December 12th so now he just has to figure out her name....any suggestions?
