Special delivery....

It is WAY past the season but Chase received a very special present today -

Is this just the coolest?! This picture was taken by one of the parents when Chase hit his home run in Herndon, Va. Not only is his swing in there, the 'giving it all I got' face but also the celebration at home plate was added into the poster. I LOVE it!

Thanks Tom for a great job and putting a nice smile on Chase's face at the end of a tough school week!

Hanging it UP!

A little earlier than we had planned but sometimes "ya just gotta do what ya gotta do", right?

So baseball is all over for this guy til next Spring. He will no doubt, enjoy the break =)

Next up.....

Baseball is done for the season. Shew....don't know that I've ever been so ready for it but this year Ronnie and I are ready to move on for a variety of reasons.

This week our boys played in the District Tournament. We won the first game. Lost the second. Won the 3rd. Lost the 4th. All in all they did pretty good but just couldn't pull it away from Winchester. Chase moves up to the 'big boys' field next season so this really is closing another chapter.

Regardless, we are all proud of the Summit Point Pinnacles!I am still wondering though if we could have won the 2nd game if this was our 3rd baseman =)As most of you know, there's always something going on here at Crockett's Corner. So, our next adventure starts next Sunday when we head to Akron, Ohio for the All American Soap Box Derby.

Hot, Hot, H O T!

That's exactly what it was this weekend for the Pinnacle's baseball tournament in Herndon. We DID survive though =)

Overall the team didn't do so well but...Chase did hit his first home run. He has hit some 'in the park' home runs and grand slams but never actually hit one 'out of the park'. So....woohoo Chase! (he didn't want to look too excited, lol!)

When he wasn't batting, he played his 'usual' position - love it when the dust flies out of the glove, haha...
We also had a special fan. Yep, Greg came all the way from Frederick to watch Chase play. Pretty cool, huh?!

Baseball, Baseball, BASEBALL!

Yesterday was a beautiful day! Sunny, lo humidity and mid 70's - perfect baseball weather and it's a good thing since the Pinnacles had THREE games to play.

We headed our around 6:30 yesterday morning in order to arrive here...
for a 9:00 game. We struggled a bit with this team but overall played pretty good. The team we played was what's considered a 'major' team while the Pinnacles are AA. Final score 7-2.

Next game - 3:00 p.m. Uh oh, another major team. But that's ok, we gave it our best again - final score 10-5, them :(.

Final game of the day - 8:00 p.m. - Our boys have always done better with late games and they were ready to play some ball! Third inning - 0-0 - shew! Eventally we got some runs and we were "up" but unfortunately during the top of the 6th, they got ahead and we just couldn't pull it off. Final scrore 5-3.

Chase caught all three games so was pretty tired by the end of the day. He got in a run down which always gets me stressed out (sigh); ended up out but he gave it a good try...Really, how many from the Red team does it take to get him out, ha!

He got a few out, too!
It was a good day of ball! This was the first time these boys had played together and it was really good practice as they gear up for the Memorial Day Tournament. We are proud of our team!

Off to a WINDY start

It was so WINDY today at the ball field! We joke about it all the time but it is always colder and more windy out there than any other place in the county!

Our opening ceremony was this morning then we had a game at 2:00 - we ended up losing but this little man hit his first 'in the park grand slam'! I am sorry to say I missed it because I was helping out in the Snack Shack but I was sure to run out and congratulate him.
Next week is our 'in house' tournament with our first game being Monday.

Tied up!

That's how the first game of the season ended. But hey, it's better than a loss! It was a beautiful evening for the game - even Kayden enjoyed the fresh air, she got to sit in her new princess chair....A catcher and hitter - yes, that's what Chase did tonight. I have to admit though that I did NOT get a picture of his hit. I did however, get a picture of him crossing home plate, lol!Back out there Wednesday for a scrimmage then opening day is Saturday. Like I said yesterday, LET THE GAMES BEGIN, we're ready!
