We CHANGED IT UP!

No party dress.
No party hats.
No noise makers.
Not even in another state.

Comfy clothes.
A warm fire.
Two recliners.

That's what our New Year's Eve consisted of and it was perfect!

But we did go out for dinner =)....... reservations for 9:00 p.m.

At this quaint little restaurant -

A candlelight table for two -

Lots of local Virginia wines to choose from -

A basket of bread -

Crab Cake with asparagus and crab soup for appetizers -

Filet with veggie mashed potatoes -

Scallops with cauliflower -

So yummy!

We talked for a little bit then ordered dessert 'to go' =)

Once home, tuned into New York - the magical city -

Planned for the winter classic game today -

And then the ball dropped -  HAPPY NEW YEAR!

So there you have it!  Our 'very different' New Years Eve.  I might just have to dump out one of our bottles of Ocean City sand so I don't break my tradition of having sand in my toes on New Years Day, ha!

Merry Christmas!

May today be filled with joy, peace and happiness!  

Policemen and M&M's and Ghosts and Gobblins....

Yep, it's all about closing down the town and having all the little creatures come out to fill their baskets, bats and pillowcases, ha!

We purchased our candy and grabbed our neighbors then found a spot.

Whew Wee -

There was a LOT of 'em.  Within 15 minutes we had gone through 245 pieces of candy....giving one per trick or treater.  Geez -

We saw The Claw machine (Cierra and Ronnie's fav game) along with a Boom Box -

Even a pumpkin gettin' all fixed up at Studio M -

But our favorite were these little Princesses - Elsa and Anna =)

She finally got to show off her costume!

A few bags more then we had time to hop on our bikes and ride in with the gang -

We made it to Lawrence street -

Where some got to show off their cool lights -

Yep....lots of pretty bikes all in a row -

A fun night it was!

Needing prayers, lol

How perfect that this little guy (or maybe girl) appears -

and when I click the shutter, he turns his head.

But seriously.....aren't they odd characters?  Oh well....as long as they pray for me, I really don't care what they look like....hehe!

Honestly, it's been a rough couple of months.  Let's just say I have a whole new appreciation for Brantley Gilbert's "What are we gonna do with those boys" song.  I'll leave it at that.

But....life does go on and we can't let a perfect Fall afternoon watching this cheerleader -

and she was AWESOME!

And we couldn't have found a better way to spend our afternoon.  Proud Gigi & Poppy!  Is she really just 5?!
