Today was the first day of the 12U tournament in Manassas, Virginia. The Pinnacles entered the tournament as the #1 seed which was very exciting. We had two games today, the first at 4:00 p.m. so we arrived around 2:30. After warming up and a light practice, the boys hung out until the game started.
We lost the first game and it was really hard to watch the boys basically give it away since they have so much potential. This was also our first 'shut out' for the whole season. Final score 6-0.
The second game was a lot better, they did show up to
play ball! They pulled together as a team both offensively and defensively. A much better game to watch even though it was
really, really cold! Some of us were even wrapped up in our sleeping bags, lol!
We are staying at the Greenville Farm which is great. It's just about 13 miles from the field and very quiet.
Tomorrow's another day - game at 11:00 a.m. so it's off to bed for the two players we have but not without giving JP a hard time about his hair. He brought all the necessities except for a comb - of course we thought he looked like a rock star so asked him to play his guitar, lol!
I can't believe you guy's are still playing baseball. It was over for us a long time ago. Good luck!
