Something to do?!

Well, if it's Saturday..... (and you live closely) head here!

Devin and I checked it out and actually bought some cinnamon rolls, peaches and corn on the cob (with no pics, haha). But it was kinda fun -

there was live music -

lots of fruit -

and even some really, really fresh carrots, ha!

Perfect!  So head down town Charles Town on Saturday morning.  You won't be disappointed!

States -----

Summit Point hosted the State tournament this year which made it very convenient for us.  We were pretty excited going in (to say the least, ha) - new cleats -

bright jersey -

plenty of water and gatorade.  Pre game time with a very important member of his fan club -

Cierra preparing to keep the concession stand running and us juggling our work schedule... but through it all, I couldn't help but think about my Dad.  He would be there.  Sitting in his chair, chatting with some of the parents and rooting Chase on.  Of course it took us back to last year when Chase went to States down in Princeton.  Dad couldn't make the trip but was sure to leave him a voicemail....

One we can listen to over and over again.  These would be the same words he would say today....

And just to make sure he knows we know he is with us, we decorated his marker for the duration of the tournament -

The first game was a win, 2nd, not so much.  Third, another win -and now this afternoon at 5 we play again.  We need to work our way all the way back up through the losers bracket.  Here's some highlights of my fav player -

ahhhh - catch it!

he loves stealin' bases =)

listening to the 'end of the game' feedback -

So....carry on, carry on.  We gotta win the next game.  Keep digging out of the losers bracket.  We CAN do this!!

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

When an odd number appeared on my phone yesterday (that I couldn't answer), I wondered who it was.  Hmmmm  they actually left me a voicemail.  When I got a minute, I listened.

She said -

Hi, this is Lori from Camillions......you won the drawing so can come pick up your tote!  Wohoo!!!!

Ahhh and it's my newest, fav pattern .... LOLA

I LOVE winning but it's even better when it is something that was on my 'wish' list!

And.....to make it even better, my Toms arrived today -I don't have any but thought maybe these would be cute for the beach......

And look....I get a pair and so does a child in need.  LOVE that.  Not to mention they even come with a little bag for packing....

No, it really doesn't take much to make me smile =)  Who LOVES Toms AND Vera Bradley?!

Addictions

Yep - I have two, lol.   Number 1 -

these are the best.  Definitely save the day when it's hot.  When you are trying to watch calories.  When you just want something light and sweet =)

And then there's the squash.  Yes, I am lovin' me some squash these days and I'm not alone (Ronnie and Britt love, too).

So tonight I tried a casserole.  Here's the ingredients -

I steamed the squash and onion on the grill for a little bit -

then baked in the oven.  YUM!

PERFECT =)

What are your summer addictions?!

Something different...

Games cancelled so we ended up with a 'free' day.  Yay!  We made a run to Winchester and talked about what we wanted to do in the evening.  Options?  Cannons game.  Nope, they were out of town.  Concert at Tarara.  Maybe.  Well...a little too far.  Andy?  Well, he was playing at Dan's in Boonsboro. We hadn't been and he didn't start until 9 which is kinda late given we weren't sure what time our games would be today.  Decisions, decisions.

But, with the games cancelled, I did get to have some fun -

I had not been to a party before.  Definitely fun trying the jewelry and eating some yummy food.  Decisions were hard here, too.  LOL

It was the consultant's first show so her sponsor was there.  While chatting I learned she lived in Boonsboro.  You guessed it, I asked about Dan's.  Here's where I learned the history.  You see Nora Roberts lives in Keedysville which is a small town just on the outskirts of Boonsboro.

She basically owns the town, ha!   The bookstore - "Turn the Page"

The Inn -

The Pizza shop -

and Dan of Dan's Restaurant is her son.  Imagine that!  Actually pretty cool.  All four corners of the main intersection.

So based on that, AND the fact that our first game isn't until 12:30, we decided to check out Dan's Restaurant -

And listen to Andy -

Now I'm not a beer person (so to say) but Dan's is known for their 24 beers on tap -

Given I'm a light drinker, we opted for some that are similar to Blue Moon and Shock Top -

The buffalo chicken dip was awesome -

The crab cake and steak wrap hit the spot -

and this "Andy" was pretty entertaining!

Ronnie did his share of entertaining - using the napkin ring as his wedding band, lol!

And then of course the main reason we went....never disappointed with this one man band!

It was a fun, spur of the moment night.  If you're looking for someplace fun to go, check out Dan's.

Merl has arrived....

Yep, the deal was sealed -

and the bike packed up -

For sure =)

And the name Merl comes from...what you ask?  Well, several months ago on a Friday Ronnie told me we were meeting Merl Ot at The Barns so I needed to get home.  Of course as anticipated, Friday traffic was not cooperating.  I explained that had I known we were meeting someone I would have made arrangements.  Hmmmm.  Once home and safely at The Barns, I learned that Merl Ot was actually Merlot, hahahaha!

The color on Ronnie's Harley is Merlot.  How fitting!  So, Merl is home =)
