Usually...

we have happy, fun animals around our yard - bunnies

toads

but every now and then a wicked creature makes it's home here and today we found something that just doesn't belong here...

So when I first saw it, I was getting ready to roll the pool cover up on the reel.  It's wicked look caught my attention so I waited patiently for Ronnie to finish up what he was doing.  When ready, I grabbed my camera just in case =).

He moved the  reel, I snapped the picture and there you have it!  A Black Widow....ewwwwww

Guess we will all be a little more careful when we are out by the pool now.  Geez..

HAPPY Anniversary Jim and Barb!

We hope you have a wonderful day!

Random.....

It's been just a little crazy-busy around here lately to say the least! But this morning while I was on the porch enjoying my coffee I noticed this momma bird with a worm....

And then I realized why she was gathering food -

Yep.....she has three little babies in the wreath on my front door.....awww!

So while I was there, I checked out my tomatoes -

I think they are definitely growing =)

Agree?

And my flowers -

The bull frog is on the lily pad ....

This lil guy has taken over Java's bed....

And this lil girl is ALL grown up.....She now has her license.  Wow, the time has flown and now she is very independent.  Hard to believe and on top of that, she's now a Senior.  Cap and gown pictures next month.  Kinda makes me sad....

Bottom line....SUMMER is here!  Have a great weekend ya'all!

Happy Father's Day....

This is my 21st year to say Happy Father's Day to Ronnie. We have experienced soooo many things as parents. The good, the bad, the challenging, the rewarding, birthdays, graduations, pretty much everything. We have both grown and learned from each event that involved our children. And with that said, I look forward to the many more Father's Days that we can share together.

Thanks for all you do! I hope you have a wonderful day.

And unfortunately this is the first Father's Day without my Dad. It makes me very sad but he would want us to remember all the good times and most importantly all the laughter.

Here's to you Dad. I miss you very much.

Save the roses!

It's very important to me that my roses do good.  Last year we got three different ones to put by the pool since Dad always had luck and they bloom all year long.  All three bushes came back and were looking really good until one day I noticed the leaves were being eaten really bad -

the whole bush looked like that.  ugh!

So I went to Walmart and searched for something to save my roses -

and sure enough, they are looking pretty darn healthy again.  YAY!

It's funny.....

but no matter how busy I was when my children were smaller, I ALWAYS found time to read. Books, magazines, papers, blogs. You name it and I read. I felt like I learned alot. It was fun.

And today when my children are very independent and off on their own, when a magazine comes, I find myself skimming through. Looking at the pictures. Not at all interested in reading the articles. Sometimes I even throw them away without even looking.

This evening I'm home alone. Dinner is going. I have put things back in order and straightened the kitchen and dining room. I go get the mail and my latest AARP magazine (yes I am OLD).

So I take a minute, sit on the porch and open it up. Nope, I am just not feelin' it. So I sift through the pages and find a coupon then away it goes.

Oh well, maybe one day I will find the urge to once again read. Magazines. Blogs. Books. Funny how life changes. Hey but at least I tore out some coupons. Outback, Carrabarras, Bonefish! Not too bad. I feel like a Sr. Citizen. Certain days, 10% discount, lol!

Happy 1/2 year birthday!

Should have been a Wordless Wednesday post, ha!

Blue water, palm trees, sunshine!

Ok, not an island but it IS our own little corner of the world =)

The temperature has finally hit the 80's (and even 90's) this week so the pool was definitely refreshing Saturday.  And it was this little princess' first time in -

Of course she was very fashionable, ha!

And these two had some fun, too -

Something definitely has their attention.....

It was a good time to catch up on each other's happenings....

Not sure what to make of Cierra's story, lol!

Regardless, it was a beautiful pool day and I'm looking forward to many more days like that.  LOVE summer time!

Another team?! Whoa....

That's right, we have had high school (both Jefferson and Washington), travel ball and Summit Point but that just must not have been enough....

because tonight we headed to the field for the Charles Town Cannon's first game of the season!  This is a college summer team that now shares the Cougar field.  The ball players come together for this season, being hosted by local families.  Pretty cool.

Opening ceremony looked pretty familiar since their colors are the same as our's  =)

And throwing out the first pitch.....well that was Coach Lowery -yay!

They played the Strasburg Express -

and got their first win!

It was a great night, not to mention our favorite home town restaurant was one of their sponsors, ha!

So if you want more info, go HERE  You can also 'like' their page on Facebook and even follow them on Twitter.  The have quite a few games at home so if you're looking for something to do one evening, come on out to the ballpark!
